CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEES
SCRD citizen advisory committees contribute to the decision-making process of the SCRD by advising and providing recommendations on a broad range of matters that fall within the various Committee mandates. Committee members are appointed by the SCRD Board of Directors per guidelines set out in each Committee's Terms of Reference. Solid Waste Management Plan Public and Technical Advisory Committee
The Public and Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) supports the development of the Solid Waste Management Plan. Information about the PTAC can be found here.
Water Supply Advisory Committee
The Water Supply Advisory Committee (WASAC) advises the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) Board through the Infrastructure Services Committee on the development and implementation of Water Supply and Water Conservation Plans for the SCRD’s water systems. Ports Monitors Committee
The Ports Monitors (POMO) Committee assists the SCRD in delivering reliable, quality ports facilities by providing input on ports operations issues and long-term ports planning; acting as on-the-ground monitors to guide the SCRD as issues arise; and, by communicating information to and from community stakeholders. Advisory Planning Commissions
Advisory Planning Commissions (APCs) are appointed within each SCRD Electoral Area as follows:
• Area A - Pender Harbour & Egmont APC
• Area B - Halfmoon Bay APC
• Area D - Roberts Creek APC
• Area E - Elphinstone APC
• Area F - West Howe Sound APC
APCs advise the SCRD Board on matters referred to them by the Board or by the Area Director respecting land use, the preparation and adoption of a community plan, or a rural land use bylaw or a proposed bylaw or permit. More information regarding the SCRD’s APCs is available here.
