Below you will find applicable forms that are required to submit a building permit application, helpful information that has been compiled by the SCRD Building Division, and how to submit an Archived File Research Request.

The Research Request process is intended to provide historical building permit records for properties to property owners or their authorized agents.

Please find below the information and instructions for submitting a Research Request:

  • Complete the Research Request form.
  • If the property owner is requesting, provide proof of ownership (i.e. recent title search, property tax document for current year, etc.).
  • If a real estate agent is requesting:
  • If an alternate third party is requesting, the Appointment of Agent form must be completed and included.
  • Email the Research Request form and applicable documents to building@scrd.ca.
  • A $30 fee is required for all Research Requests, and online or in person payment instructions will be provided once applicable forms and documents have been received.

We strive to research requests within 5 business days.

The SCRD does not make any assurances that the information sought by the Requestor is either contained or complete in any archived files retained by the SCRD. The archived documents are limited in scope to the available information contained within the archived files and are NOT based on recent site inspections of the property.
