The SCRD is aware of a wildfire near Crowston Lake in Halfmoon Bay and our emergency program staff are in contact with the BC Wildfire Service.

The BC Wildfire Service is in charge of responding to the fire, including fighting it, monitoring fire behaviour, sharing updates, and making operational decisions. If required, the SCRD will help coordinate emergency response measures, such as evacuation alerts or evacuation orders, through an Emergency Operations Centre.

If that changes, updates will be posted on the SCRD Facebook page and here at https://www.scrd.ca/emergency-alerts.

Such alerts would also be shared via the SCRD’s Voyent Alert emergency alert system. Residents can sign up for these alerts via https://www.scrd.ca/alert-system
