Hopkins Landing Dock Reopened

Great news! The Hopkins Landing Dock deck and wharf head have reopened and are once again available for community use. 

The dock was originally closed in June 2023 due to safety concerns. Throughout 2024, the SCRD carried out extensive community engagement to help guide the redesign and ensure the upgraded dock reflects the needs and priorities of residents. 

The dock is now open, however those familiar with the dock will notice that the original float is not currently attached. 

When the dock was closed, the float was removed and placed in storage. During the renovation project, repairs were planned, but a detailed inspection this past April revealed that the float was in significant disrepair and could not be reused. Replacing the float will require a separate design and construction contract, and further updates on this work will be shared next year.
