How to Vote by Mail

Want to vote by mail? You can! Mail ballot voting is available to all eligible electors. You must complete the Mail Ballot Application and follow the instructions below.

Here’s exactly what you need to do, from applying for your ballot to getting your completed ballot back to us on time.

Complete the Mail Ballot Application Form

Planning to have your ballot mailed to you? Apply as early as possible!

Applications received after October 2 may not leave enough time for your ballot to be mailed to you and returned to the SCRD, due to the legislated deadlines.

The application deadline to request a mail ballot package is October 15, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

If your application is complete and you qualify to vote by mail ballot, the SCRD will send you a mail ballot package or advise you that it is ready to be picked up (at the SCRD Field Road Administration Office) as soon as the ballots are available

This is generally on or about September 28, 2026.

Your ballot package will include instructions. Follow those instructions carefully to complete your ballot and cast your vote. If you’re not yet registered, we will send you that information, too.

This is the most important deadline: You are responsible for ensuring your completed mail ballot is received at the SCRD Administration Office at 1975 Field Road, Sechelt no later than 8:00 pm on General Voting Day, Saturday, October 17, 2026 in order to be counted.

So, if you’re mailing your ballot, give yourself plenty of time for it to arrive. If you are unsure about timing, returning it in person at Field Road is an option.
