SCRD Dog Regulations are contained in Bylaw No. 376, 1994. The SCRD offers dog control in the following areas:
- Halfmoon Bay
- Roberts Creek
- Elphinstone
- West Howe Sound
- Sechelt Indian Government District (contact SIGD for Law 1996-05)
Dog licences are to be renewed every calendar year:
- Spayed or Neutered Dogs $30.00 each
- Unspayed or Unneutered Dogs $70.00 each
*Seniors purchasing a dog license receive a 50% discount. ID may be required. A spaying or neutering certificate may be required. If you have your dog spayed or neutered during the licensing year the difference in licence fee will be refunded. Bring your receipt for the license and the spaying or neutering certificate to the SCRD for a refund.
Dog Licenses are available at the following locations:
- SCRD Administration Office, 1975 Field Road, Sechelt
- Town of Gibsons, 474 South Fletcher, Gibsons
- From the Dog Control Officer
Impounded Dogs:
Dogs found running at large can be impounded by the Dog Control Officer and taken to the Cedar Creek Kennels. Cedar Creek Kennels are located at 1853 Sunshine Coast Highway, Gibsons and can be contacted at 604-886-8568.
Complaints:
The Dog Control Officer responds to public complaints of dogs running at large, barking dogs, aggressive dogs and dog bites.
