Ports MONITORS (POMO) COMMITTEE
The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) has appointed community members to the Ports Monitors (POMO) Committee. Community representatives have been appointed for Gambier Harbour, West Bay (Gambier Island), Halkett Bay (Gambier Island), Port Graves (Gambier Island), Vaucroft (North Thormanby Island), Eastbourne (Keats Island), Keats Landing, Halfmoon Bay and Hopkins Landing.
Volunteers Needed for the Sunshine Coast Regional District Ports Monitors (POMO) Committee
The following dock representatives are open for application:
Halfmoon Bay (Mintie Road)
Vaucroft, North Thormanby Island
Halkett Bay, Gambier Island
Port Graves, Gambier Island
Committee members will be appointed by the SCRD Board of Directors for a two-year term and will meet biannually to:
• Providing the SCRD with input on operations issues related to ports;
• Providing input to long term ports planning;
• Acting as on-the-ground eyes and ears to guide SCRD response to issues as they arise;
• Communicating ports related information to and from community stakeholders.
Experience with ports facilities and effective communication and community connection skills are preferred qualifications of members.
