2019 Pitch-In Canada Week

Pitch-In Canada is an annual and national one-week campaign which provides an opportunity for people across Canada to host clean up events to collect litter and recyclables around their communities.

This year Pitch-In Canada takes place from April 22-29.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Registration

SCRD residents can register a community clean up event on the Pitch-In Canada website.

Clean ups can be hosted from April 22 – 29 or throughout May 2019.

2. Garbage Disposal

The SCRD’s Good Samaritan Program will pay the disposal fees for garbage collected from your Pitch-In Canada clean up delivered to either the Sechelt Landfill or Pender Harbour Transfer Station.

Loads must be pre-approved. Please email the following information to infrastructure@scrd.ca or call 604-885-6806 to arrange drop off:

Confirmation of Pitch-In Canada registration
Date and location of your community clean-up
Amount of garbage collected
Date the garbage will be delivered and to which site (Sechelt Landfill or Pender Harbour Transfer Station)

3. Recyclables

Sorted, clean recyclable items can be dropped off for free at one of the three recycling depots on the Sunshine Coast. Please visit RecycleBC for accepted materials.
