bicycle and walking paths

The SCRD currently maintains 30 kilometres of bicycle and walking paths in Areas A, B, D, E and F on the Sunshine Coast. These paths help meet the community’s needs for recreation and alternative transportation. Here is a map showing each of the boundaries for the electoral areas and municipalities.

Bicycle and walking path maps for each rural area community:

Area A (Egmont and Pender Harbour)

Area B (Halfmoon Bay)

Area D (Roberts Creek)

Area E (Elphinstone)

Area F (West Howe Sound)

Below are bicycle and walking path maps. These paths are maintained and managed by the municipalities:

District of Sechelt

Town of Gibsons

Being a safe cyclist:

If you are a cyclist, you are responsible for sharing the road.

  1. Be predictable and follow the rules of the road.
  2. Be visible and wear bright and reflective clothing. Ensure you have lights in the dark or poor weather.
  3. Ride defensively by being assertive. Think and look well ahead.
  4. Ride legally by wearing a bike helmet which are obligatory in BC.
