Emergency Response and Recovery Plan (ERRP): Emergency Response and Recovery Plan
This document contains the guidelines for response and recovery based on the BC Emergency Response Management System (BCERMS).
Constant revisions are made to keep this living document current.
The most recent revision was completed on 2009/10/01. Partial funding for this project was from the Government of Canada Joint Emergency Preparedness Program (JEPP). Canada![]()
Hazard Risk and Vulnerability Analysis (HRVA): (see additional information)
This report examined all the hazards we face on the coast and rated them using the following formula:
Probability x Consequence = Risk
Tsunami Mapping Project: (see additional information)
A mapping and information project to raise awareness on the dangers of tsunamis.
Tsunami Maps:
Community Wildfire Protection Program (CWPP):
The goal of this project is to identify high probability areas for wildfires close to the urban interface and recommend mitigation strategies.
Fuel Treatment Pilot Project (FTPP):
This fuel management project to reduce interface fire risk has been completed at Baker Beach in the Pender Harbour area.

Before After
Wildfire Hazard and Risk Assessment: (see additional information)
Completed analysis on the risk of wildfires in most SCRD parks and determined what mitigation techniques should be employed.
Emergency Medical Stockpile:
There are a number of emergency medical supplies located on the coast.
A 200 Bed Emergency Hospital has recently been refurbished and relocated to a site in Gibsons. This hospital contains a complete operating room, beds, instruments and a generator.
Casualty Collection Units (CCU) are located in Roberts Creek and in Pender Harbour. These units contain supplies such as blankets and stretchers for a multi-casualty incident (MCI) such as a plane, ship or bus accident.
There are NO drugs or fuel stored in any of these locations.

Vital Services Directory (VSD):
We keep a comprehensive directory of goods, services and contacts for use by emergency responders in the event of a disaster. Last updated in 2009.
