Soames Point Water System

The Soames Point Water System is located north-east of the town of Gibsons, towards Langdale. Soames Hill boasts impressive second growth forest trails leading to spectacular views of Howe Sound mountains and islands (Keats and Bowen), Gibsons, and the Strait of Georgia.

Soames Point is an independent system which is operated and maintained by the SCRD. The system's water is pumped from the West Howe Sound Aquifer and into the reservoir, which can hold 227,000 liters of water. The monthly demand on the system fluctuates dramatically, varying from 1.0-9.0 million litres. Fluctuations are directly linked to seasonal weather patterns.
