Do you have a program idea that you would like to share with the Sunshine Coast residents? Are you interested in being a contract instructor for Recreation? The Sunshine Coast Regional District Recreation Division is looking for outstanding individuals who posses the following qualities: excellent communication skills, positive attitude, team player, experience instructing/teaching programs, conflict resolution skills and adaptability.

All potential instructors will be required to complete a criminal record check.
Drop-in Fitness instructor
We are looking for contract fitness instructors to teach various group fitness formats at the Gibsons & Area Community Centre and Sechelt Aquatic Centre. If you upbeat, friendly, and a reliable person who is currently registered with BCRPA or CFES in group fitness, we would love to hear from you. These registrations include the appropriate insurance required to teach with the SCRD. For more information contact Adrianne.

Lifeguard & water Safety Instructor Certification
We offer certification programs to become a Lifeguard and/or Water Safety Instructor.

Child Safety Orientation
Instructors are also required to complete the Child Safety Orientation and write a short, comprehensive quiz to ensure that they have read and understood it. The Child Safety Orientation is designed to ensure the safety of participants and define proper conduct in dealing with children.
Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Our instructors are required to complete a Criminal Record Check.
THIRD PARTY PRACTITIONER POLICY
If you are coaching, training or instructing for a non-SCRD program or service* in SCRD recreation facilities, please register yourself as a third party practitioner. To do so, review and submit this application package with supporting documents. *Examples are personal trainers, physiotherapists using facilities for patient rehabilitation etc. (Excluding volunteer organizations). Renewal form.
Third Party 10 visit card** $80 OR
Third Party Practitioner drop in** $12
**As explained in the policy, a single admission or one visit to be used for each session in the day.
