The Information Technology Division at the SCRD is a support service that provides efficient delivery of technical resources to staff, ensuring that they have the necessary tools to provide the best possible service to the public.

Making extensive use of hardware virtualization, we are constantly looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our services while maintaining a high degree of realibility and data integrity.

We manage a fibre and wireless Wide Area Network that unifies the many business locations of the SCRD - from Gibsons to Pender Harbour - and provides an infrastructure for data and voice traffic. We select, procure, install and maintain servers, desktop computers, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones and a broad range of software.

Continual rapid advances in technology require the replacement, upgrading and expansion of both hardware and software made obsolete by new developments. We strive to accomplish this in a cost effective manner to the public while ensuring that the organization has the necessary resources to conduct business.
