Biodiversity
The SCRD manages a community parks system that embraces the importance of "Biodiversity" and appreciates the fact that biodiversity encompasses not only a variety of distinct species within a given area but also recognizes the importance of genetic diversity and variety of ecosystems across a geographic landscape.
In order to support, maintain and enhance this diversity, the Parks Division is in the process of developing an umbrella Environmental Management strategy which will guide its actions in this regard. The Parks Division, on an ongoing basis, also develops individual management plans for specific parks like Cliff Gilker.
