Clean Up Coupons
In 2007 “Spring Cleanup” curbside collection was replaced by coupons entitling holders to a free garbage load to the landfill. From the year 2008 and onward, coupons have been distributed to residential garbage collection customers, along with the annual utility bill in the first week of May. Present your coupon to the landfill attendant at either the Sechelt Landfill or Pender Harbour Landfill (check your coupon) and receive one free "Cleanup" load.
The following conditions apply:
- One coupon load per street address
- Loads may be up to a maximum of 450 kg, or roughly one pickup load
- Materials in load must be deposited in appropriate locations at the site - ask staff for direction
- Costs for weight in excess of 450 kg will be paid by the customer
- Coupon loads need to arrive before 4:00pm
- Material restrictions apply (e.g. gypsum board), check your coupon for material restrictions
- NO gypsum
- NO oversize truck tires
- NO freon (eg. fridges, air cond., etc.)
- NO e-waste at Sechelt Landfill (eg. TVs, computers, hard drives, etc.)
- CLEAN WOOD only (NO treated wood, NO plastic/metal/vinyl/duroid roofing/etc. attached)
- NO bulk items (eg. boats, etc.)
Residents of the District of Sechelt and Town of Gibsons should contact their municipal offices to inquire about "Spring Cleanup" programs in their areas.
