Civic Addressing
The Property Information and Mapping Section of the Sunshine Coast Regional District
maintains a formal civic addressing system for all Electoral Areas including the Town
of Gibsons, the District of Sechelt, the Sechelt Indian Government District and the Islands. Maintaining a consistent and continuous civic addressing system allows homeowners and businesses to formally indentify their premises, assisting with the provision of deliveries, emergency and non-emergency services to their property.
Civic addresses are generally issued at the time of application for a building permit. The civic address is based on the location of the driveway serving the property and the location of the building on the property. The current fee for the issuance of a civic address is $175.
For the display of the civic address, it is suggested that the numbers be 3" to 5" high. Dark numbers on a white background are the most visible.
Every home and business should be assigned a number. If you do not have a number, or would like us to confirm your number, please contact us.
