Children

It's important that children get an early start in developing their motor skills. Providing your child with a wide variety of opportunities to be active will help them develop the foundations of physical literacy.

What is Physical Literacy?
Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life.

Summer Activities for Kids
Pre-registration is required, unless otherwise noted.

Hockey One Goal
For kids 3 to 6 years old.

Clayworks
For kids 6 to 12 years old.

Food Fun for Kids
For ages 6 to 10 years.

Sport Tennis Camp
For ages 6 to 12 years.

Swim Lessons
Preschool Parented: Ages 4 months - 3 years
Preschool non-parented: Ages 3 - 5 years
Swim Kids: Ages 6 - 14 years
*If your child is enrolled in swim lessons, they may stay and swim in the pool after the lesson is over for no extra charge. Family members wishing to join them can pay drop-in admission or use their MYPASS. Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a paying adult in the pool outside of swim lessons.

MYPASS FOR YOUTH
18 years and under
$99 / $39 * for 12 months.
*If parent in the same household has a valid MYPASS.
Valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

Childminding
$3.75 / hour, $2 / hour for each additional child
Enjoy some time for yourself while your child is in the care of trained YMCA staff. Ages 6 weeks to 9 years
Gibsons and Area Community Centre
No childminding on statutory holidays.
Sundays: 9:30 am to 12:00 pm
Mondays: 5:00 to 8:15 pm
Wednesdays: 4:15 to 7:30 pm


Parent and Tot Family Resource Centre Drop In
Free!
For parents and caregivers with children birth to 6. Bring your child to play and meet other parents and children. Sunshine Coast Community Services friendly, trained and experience staff are always available to support parents with any child development or parenting concerns.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Bellies and Babies Drop In
Free!
For pregnant women and new moms: an opportunity to meet, share stories, talk with Sunshine Coast Community Services staff and get information on pregnancy, birthing, postpartum, nutrition and well as learn about other community services. A free delicious and nutritious hot lunch is served and recipes provided.
