BizPaL is a web-based service that allows business clients to easily generate a customized list of the permits and licences they require from three levels of government - local, provincial and federal - by answering simple questions about the business.

This service is the result of collaboration between the Government of Canada and participating provincial, territorial, regional, and municipal governments.

Information for New Businesses

Although the SCRD does not issue business licences, most of the land use zones in the SCRD permit a range of home businesses, but certain restrictions do apply. New business owners are encouraged to contact the Planning & Development Division to discuss their future business plans to confirm compliance with the zoning.
