Punch Passes are available to those with a current PH Aquatic Society membership.
PH Aquatic Society memberships: $3 for single and $5 for family. Valid September - August 31 each year.
The Pender Harbour Aquatic and Fitness Centre has a number of certified Aquatic Fitness Instructors who pride themselves in offering a range of Aquafit classes suitable for all community members to enjoy.
Deep Water Aquafit: Experience the magical properties of the water and get a great workout! Aqua classes should not be mistaken as "easy". Water is very suitable for all fitness levels, young and old. Whether you are coming back from an injury or are looking for an environment that surrounds you, literally, with resistance. Cardio-muscular training that is gentle on the joints, even under heavy strain. Stengthen, build up and limber up! You are welcome to do this class in the shallow water, no swim skills necessary. For deep water, participatns should be able to tread water even though a flotation belt is worn during the workout.
Gentle Waves: This class is specifically designed for those who have joint and mobility issues such as arthritis, fybromyalgia, joint injuries. Also, for those who are pre or post joint replacement stages of healing. Working in chest deep water participants will be encouraged to work at a pace comfortable and safe for their individual abilities. This is a more gentle paced class that allows for gentle movements to increase joint action, muscle strength and range of motion. Please let staff know of any particular health issues you have so we can ensure your experience is safe and enjoyable.
Shallow Fit: New to our program, a moderate paced water exercise class done in chest deep water. The in-between of Gentle Waves and Deep Water, a great place to begin your water exercise experience.
Water Running: This is a great program for anyone who is training or recovering from running injuries or for those that want to try something different. This 45 minute class will teach you proper techniques in the water and increase your cardio at the same time.
*Weights to Water Come to FAB for the first 45 minutes then jump in the pool to finish off your workout with Water Runnning. FAB is a women only, 50 and beyond class in the gym from 10-11am and Water Running is co-ed.
