Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC)

The Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC) advises the SCRD Board on agricultural applications, concerns or issues in the SCRD.

The AAC makes recommendations on the following:

• Applications initiated under the Agricultural Land Commission Act (ALCA);
• Applications to amend official community plans and zoning bylaws affecting ALR lands;
• Transportation plans within or adjacent to the ALR;
• Major development proposals with potential impact on the ALR.
• Raising awareness of agriculture;
• Enhancing an understanding of agriculture's role in the local and /or regional economy;
• Addressing competition for the agricultural land base;
• Examining bylaws and legislation to identify improvements to support agriculture throughout the Sunshine Coast.

The AAC usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Please check with the Regional District
Planning Secretary (604-885-6804 ext. 7) to confirm meetings.
